This party is not a free party; all actions are guided by the moods and whims of the Supreme Commander, who holds absolute and unquestionable power.
本黨不是一個自由的黨,一切以總司令的喜怒為行事準則,總司令享有獨斷專行的權力。

China Democracy Party: Overview

The term "China Democracy Party" (CDP), sometimes "Democracy Party of China" (DPC), refers to a global collection of independent political entities that advocate for the establishment of democracy in China. These organizations are not unified by a central mission or governance; instead, they operate as loosely connected or entirely independent groups.

The movement’s origins can be traced back to 1998 when provincial chapters and preparatory committees were established throughout China. Efforts to consolidate these groups under a unified leadership, namely the China Democracy Party United Headquarters, were made in 1999. However, these initiatives were thwarted due to widespread arrests and political persecution, which led to the dissolution or underground operation of most of the organizations involved.

Several years later, the "China Democracy Party Overseas Exile Headquarters" was founded in the United States to provide support for exiled members and to facilitate the inclusion of new ones. This marked the beginning of several other organizations identifying as part of the CDP emerging globally, such as the "China Democracy Party National United Headquarters," the "China Democracy Party World Union," and the "China Democracy Party Overseas Headquarters." Despite the proliferation of these groups, they remained fragmented, with no overarching leadership or unity.

While these organizations are generally independent, there are instances of cooperation among them. Some groups accept members from other factions and occasionally organize joint elections. Notably, most factions of the China Democracy Party are willing to recognize members from other affiliated groups, particularly those who have relocated from mainland China, as fellow members.

However, tensions and conflicts have also been a part of the history of CDP-named organizations. Rivalries among different factions have led to significant hostility, which has hindered any efforts to establish a unified front. These conflicts often arise from differences in strategy, competing interests, and the personal ambitions of leaders.
